Chameleon Research

I am researching Chameleons for my book. I thought erroneously that this rare and beautiful but weirdly ugly animal changed color based on its background or surroundings...not so!

There are different varieties of chameleons and they change color based on mood -- basically to show aggression or affection or attraction. They have lightning fast tongues and are listed as "threatened" in Kenya. But I did see one when I lived there though, so I decided to put it in my book.
